Six years ago we asked a student to come to the clinic and collate statistics on our paediatric cases.  That’s when we first met Daniela Colores Hoglund.

She travelled up from the south coast and worked so hard collating all the information from our files.  When she graduated I called her to ask if she wanted to join our clinic knowing she might find it too far to travel from Christchurch. She said yes immediately which was the start of  a wonderful 5 and a half years working with her.

Having seen Daniela as a newly fledged graduate maturing into the most accomplished chiropractor has made me so proud.

We threw everything at her and she took every challenge with her Latin attitude and did it in true ‘Daniela’ style.  The first challenge was to create a series of educational films on posture. We found two film and music students who supported her and Daniela used Robert as her brother in arms to film them.

Here is one of the films that they made in black and white silent movie style:

Next we asked Daniela to create a Christmas calendar Facebook live series which she did with her compatriot, Louise the ‘posture dog’.  Louise is a French bulldog with a huge peronsality!

She posted posture tips for the 24 days of advent and we loved seeing Daniela and Louise share fun ideas each day.

Daniela also created a competition for a local Junior School after doing a school assembly about posture in aid of World Spine Day.  The children made little posters with top tips on how to look after your spine.  One of the winning entries was chosen to be in the global film about World Spine Day.

I couldn’t have been more proud when Daniela got chosen to be the Associate of the year by the Royal College of Chiropractic.  She so deserved it.

We call Daniela the Mexican jumping bean and we will so miss you chica, you have lit up our clinic for 5 and a half happy years and you will leave a big Latin hole when you leave!

Best of luck for your next adventure and future career.
