Harry is a young and highly successful athlete, and has been looked after by Tone Tellefsen Hughes at Luck’s Yard Clinic since he was a toddler.

Since then, he’s been treated by Tone for  a number of issues, and his parents feel that having chiropractic support has been invaluable in getting him where he is today – not just in sport, but in his academic and musical endeavours as well.

The early days

Harry’s sporting potential was recognised early, when as a young footballer he was invited to train with Portsmouth FC.  As a happy outcome of a significant and consistent level of football training, his school recognised his potential as a runner, first encouraging him to run at a district schools cross country race when he was eight years old. He did well, and won the primary schools championships at the age of nine, and thereafter his school encouraged him to join a proper athletics club.

Club membership

Harry is now coached at Guildford and Godalming AC by Sue Goode, (2012 England Athletics Development Coach of the Year,) and in early 2012 became the Under 13 Surrey County Cross Country Champion. He also competes on the track at 800m, 1500m, and 3000m, and despite being very young for his age group is already highly ranked in the UK in both Cross Country, and in Track and Field.

How Luck’s Yard helps Harry

As with all athletes, the biggest challenge is keeping his developing body injury-free. Whilst England Athletics sponsor athletes across the country, Harry will not be eligible for such important support for several more years.

He and his family are therefore delighted that Tone and Luck’s Yard clinic are supporting him in his athletic endeavours, and his ambition to join Team GB and represent his country in the future.

Tone has also been helping him keep fit during his charity fund-raising efforts – where Harry can be seen supporting local causes through his annual participation in events such as the Bolt Round the Holt in support of the Royal Surrey GUTS appeal.

The new Cross Country season starts in earnest around now – keep tuned in to our Blog for more news on Harry’s progress as his campaign develops with our support.

We are delighted to announce that Harry won at the ‘Waverley Guildford Qualifier’ to get to run at the Surrey Schools Championships to be held January 2014 at Reigate.

Harry has gone on this weekend representing Surrey Schools in Warwickshire in the ‘West Midlands Intercounties Cross Country Championships’ to lead the Surrey Squad of 18 Boys home to a team gold in the Junior Boys section.  Harry himself scooping up an Individual Silver Medal.

Congratulations from all of us!
