Ingredients – 16 servings

145g Pitted Dates (finely chopped)
235ml Water
110g Almond Flour (or plain flour)
¼ tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
160g Oats
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Coconut Oil (melted)
80g Maple Syrup
65g Almond Butter


Method

Preheat oven to 190°C.

Place chopped dates in a small pan with water. Place over low heat. Stir continuously with a fork until mixture forms a gooey paste.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, oats & cinnamon and mix together. Then add oil, maple syrup, almond butter & ¼ cup warm water. Use spatula to stir well.

Divide oat mixture in half. Press one portion down into a deep baking tray (8×8). Then spread the date mixture over. Sprinkle other half of oat mixture evenly over the top.

Pop in oven & bake for 15 mins. Remove and let cool before cutting.
