Verity Vinen gives us her top 10 tips for self care:

  1. Make sleep a priority and avoid technology before bedtime. Replace with a relaxing bath and a good book.
  2. Drink more water, have a bottle with you and drink throughout the day.
  3. Move more – walk, run, dance, hop, skip, cycle. Include exercise as part of your day.
  4. Spend time with a friend. Find someone who wants to see you grow as a human being.
  5. Allow room for every emotion. Crying can be very releasing/cleansing. Notice your emotions, acknowledge them and give them space to be, and learn to let go of them too.
  6. Enjoy a hobby: be creative, be active or even better combine the two.
  7. Be in the moment and record those moments through writing a journal, drawing, dream diaries, photography. Make memories to treasure.
  8. Seek serenity through nature, art music, dance, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, prayer, and silence. Breathe and get in touch with your heartbeat, and become more in-tune with your senses.
  9. Spoil yourself… we all like something naughty from time to time.
  10. Practice gratitude always.
