Award winning Luck’s Yard is 15 years old!
As well as providing healthcare to patients across many different disciplines including chiropractic; massage, aromatherapy and reflexology, acupuncture, sports rehab therapy, child and family coaching, nutrition and podiatry, Luck’s Yard has had a continuous programme of supporting charities and our local community.
We are passionate about teaching the importance of looking after our bodies from an early age, so our chiropractors frequently visit local schools talking to students of all ages about the importance of selfcare through exercise, good nutrition and lifestyle choices as well as keeping fit and active.
Up until the pandemic forced us to change some of our practices, we offered ‘free baby checks for charity’ where the chiropractors gave newborns a ‘once over’ and all contributions were donated to a nominated charity that included the neo-natal unit at the RSCH in Guildford and in-clinic support for children with special needs.
Over the years, we have supported The Teenage Cancer trust, Jeans for Genes Day, Alexandra Rose charities and Teens for Teens. Every year at Christmas we receive donations (thanks everyone!) for the St Marks Food bank and have supported other organisations that support homelessness and those in need.
More recently Tone has been integral in setting up the Green Hub Project for Teens, a local community project aimed at promoting the wellbeing of teenagers’ mental health through social and therapeutic horticulture. At the heart of the project is our beautiful, walled garden behind the clinic where teens can come together and receive support and friendship.
If you have been into the clinic in recent weeks, you will have noticed an ever-growing pile of teddies that you have so kindly donated to the ‘We care, share a bear’ project that gives a soft toy to children fleeing the war in Ukraine. This was co-ordinated by chiropractor Nic Langlois and Tone was happy for the clinic to be a drop-off point.
Tone created the free Lucks Yard app which has top tips and exercises for all parts of the body to help get you moving and keep your joints supple: https://www.lucksyardclinic.com/get-appy-with-lucks-yard/
We also have a good selection of youtube films if you want to see various therapists demonstrating stretching and supporting exercises to help with your ongoing treatments: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lucks+yard+clinic
And don’t forget our website which we keep regularly updated with blogs and articles of interest which we also add to our regular email newsletter.
So as you can see we keep ourselves busy and we can’t do it without you so a big THANKS to all our patients and we are looking forward to the next 15 (??!!) years!
