Child's feet

Yvette Mann is a highly experienced Podiatrist/Chiropodist who is pleased to offer her services at the Luck's Yard Clinic under her own business name of Yvette Mann Podiatry. She is the lead Podiatrist and qualified in 1997 and has experience in all areas of Podiatry.

Yvette has two very friendly and competent associates - Maninder Bharj and David Good - who will be seeing clients throughout Yvette's maternity leave in 2008 and after her return.

Yvette, David and Maninder work closely with the chiropractors and sports therapist to improve posture alignment and function. Some of the most common conditions they can help with are heel, knee, back and pelvic pain. Other conditions that Podiatrists frequently treat are corns, ingrown toe nails and verrucaes.

All Podiatrists have undertaken a degree level training course and are registered with the Health Professions Council and are also members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists . All of the Podiatrists were previously also known as State Registered prior to the change.

Frequently asked questions

1. What is the difference between Podiatry and Chiropody?

Chiropodists now tend to call themselves podiatrists as it reflects the full scope of practice now covered in their training.

2. How often do I need to come to see a Podiatrist?

If there are no pending problems then 3-6 monthly foot checks are adequate but regular 6 to 8 week appointments can be beneficial to some patients.

3. What are Orthotics and do they work?

They are specifically made casted devices to wear inside your shoe to control, realign or cushion any abnormalities. They are very effective so long as the prescription is accurate and the patient wears them in correctly and continues to wear them on a regular basis.

4. Is there an age limit (young/old) when one should see a Podiatrist?

Not at all. Children as young as 2 years of age come for biomechanical assessments and as old as 100 for routine foot care. Prevention is always better than cure.

Consultation fees:

Initial consultation 30 minutes - £40
