A patient’s reflections on managing and living with arthritis |
My first experiences of back problems were typical – limping around, grimacing, going to the GP a few times, being made to feel like a hypochondriac. Eventually after looking at an x-ray report the GP told me something was a “funny shape” and I should do lots of exercise. Actually, he wasn’t wrong, but the explanation was lacking and walking was an effort just then, let alone exercise. It was at that point I decided to take matters in to my own hands.

We now support the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Royal Surrey County Hospital by raising money for its vital charity that supports new born babies. We offer a 30-minute newborn baby check in return for a £10 donation to SCBU.
The chiropractors offer 8 sessions at £10 every month on a first come, first served basis. Once these places have been filled, the 30 minute baby check is charged at £45.
We have been supporting the Royal Surrey Hospital Safe Delivery Trust fund since 2009 and have so far pledged the equivalent of £11,000 in chiropractic hours, raising £1250, which has all gone to the charity. So far we have checked over 270 babies for charity.

A chiropractic testimonial on headaches |
|
The trouble started with a sharp and persistent shooting pain in one side of my head - from the base of the skull at the back to just behind my left eye. It was continuous, but became even more acute if I bent forward, or tried to pick things up from the floor. Coughing or sneezing was devastating. I couldn’t think, read, or drive. I couldn’t even put my shoes on.
