ACCORDING to research published by the British Chiropractic Association last week, almost a quarter of Britons complain of a a sore back, neck or shoulder due to carrying or using gadgets such as a smart phone or laptop.

At Luck’s Yard Clinic we like to get help from local businesses as we believe in taking part and making the best of our local community. We are a family friendly clinic and so being local is important to us.

At Luck’s Yard feel fortunate to be able to do what we do and we also have a strong belief in community work and in education as well as giving back. We therefore spend a lot of time going out out in the community doing talks and presentations as well as working for local charities.

Local Chiropractor and clinic manager Tone Tellefsen Hughes started her business “Luck’s Yard Clinic” in Milford four years ago in 2007. Following a successful launch of the clinic, she quickly realised that running a business is a daunting task and presents a steep learning challenge, particularly with the regulations and expectations that one has on a day-to-day basis.

Christmas is a time for over-indulgence and can leave our bodies feeling sluggish and our energy levels depleted.  As well as these physical effects, the stress associated with the festive season can leave us suffering from post-Christmas blues – often dreading the first two months of the New Year and the long wait for spring.

At Luck’s Yard we are excited to announce our third anniversary and that we now have 3000 patients on our database! The team is working more and more with the local GPs and health care providers to offer the best possible care for our clients.  We now see 100-150 patients a week – many from outside Surrey.

To celebrate our 3rd birthday Luck’s Yard Clinic offered chiropractic assessments, usually worth £60 per session, in exchange for a donation to charity - and during the week, many people took advantage of this offer. With over 40% of the population suffering from back pain, it was an ideal opportunity to get effective chiropractic treatment and to help local charities at the same time.

We try to publish all our testimonials - see 'What our clients say about us..' to read them all - but have decided to share with you the ones we have received in just one month - September 2010 - in this short article.

On Saturday 6 June, Luck’s Yard Clinic in Milford hosted a taster day from 11am-1pm to celebrate its second anniversary.  The therapists were there to offer treatments as well as introductory talks on posture and acupuncture to support MS Therapy Group (Guildford).

A local chiropractic team from Milford has held a workshop with exercise instructors to discuss back pain.  The three chiropractors from Luck’s Yard Clinic, Tone Tellefsen Hughes, Mariana Ferencakova and Priscilla Stevens, together with pilates instructor Bridget Lincoln, hosted the workshop last Friday at Milford Village Hall.

A Surrey businesswoman who set up her own chiropractic clinic 18 months ago has been awarded two accolades by The College of Chiropractors.

Chiropractor Tone Tellefsen Hughes opened Luck’s Yard Clinic in Milford last year, in June. She gathered a team of health care professionals, whom she had liaised with previously, to work together helping clients to achieve health and wellness from top to toe, and from the inside out.

“Straighten up UK” is a European Chiropractic campaign aiming to improve the nations posture and to help in preventing back pain by promoting balance, strength and flexibility of the spine.

Tone Tellefesen-Hughes was invited by Finance South-East to present the starting of her business,Luck’s Yard Clinic, to an audience of 70 other business women.

On 21st September 2007, Luck's Yard Clinic, the new chiropractic and health care clinic in Milford, had its grand opening ceremony!
